The main goal of Preparatory Department for foreign citizens is to teach Russian language for foreigners, which is given more than 50% of the time.

The training is conducted in full-time and distance form in Russian and is carried out in groups of 5 to 15 people.

In 2024/2025 academic year admission is conducted for extra-budgetary (paid) places and for budgetary places (funded from the budget allocations of the federal budget).

Educational programs:

Foreign citizens who have successfully completed the additional educational program and successfully passed the final assessment receive a Certificate of completion of the Preparatory Department in Saint-Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. Students who haven’t completed training by additional general education program receive a certificate of the established sample with a list of the subjects studied and their scope upon their written application.

To study at the Preparatory Department, persons with an education not lower than the general secondary or secondary professional, confirmed by the relevant document, are allowed.

Students of the Preparatory Department are provided with a hostel.

Training period:

• October 2024 – August 2025 (as groups are formed)

Distance learning:

Full-time learning:

6. After 30-40 days you will receive an invitation by e-mail.
7. After receiving an invitation from the University you need to apply to the Embassy or Consulate of the Russian Federation in your country for an entry study visa to Saint-Petersburg.
8. You need to arrive in Saint-Petersburg no later than 01.10.2024 with the originals of documents.

Registration of invitations to enter the Russian Federation is carried out only for applicants recommended by the Preparatory Department for enrollment.

Upon arrival in Saint-Petersburg, during the first working day, report to the address: office 407, 54 Sadovaya st.

Preparatory Department for foreign citizens with the following documents:

• national passport;
• notarized translation of the national passport;
• migration card (issued at the border);
• a medical certificate indicating that the student has no medical contraindications for studying and staying in the Russian Federation, with a period of examination of no more than 3 months, as well as a certificate of vaccination (for those who will live in a hostel);
• notarized translation of the medical certificate, as well as the certificate of vaccination (for those who will live in a hostel);
• 6 photos (3x4 cm).

All foreign citizens coming to the Russian Federation for study must be insured (issued by the Department of visas and registrations in �������Ƶ at the address: office 429, 4th floor, 18 Bolshaya Morskaya st., registration of visas, tel.: +7 (812) 315-08-93).

Possible expenses upon arrival in Saint-Petersburg:

• registration of a compulsory health insurance policy;
• additional medical services;
• purchase of a teaching aid for training.
