25 September

The contestants faced a difficult task: to translate the dry language of legal acts into a visual language understandable to young people. The comic strip of Anna Makarova, a student of the Department of Advertising Design at ²ÝÁñ¶ÌÊÓƵ, was recognized by the expert community as the best and will be printed on the pages of the Petersburg Diary, distributed in social and educational institutions of the city, social networks and channels of the St. Petersburg prosecutor's office. The girl performed the work within the framework of the academic discipline "Book Graphics and Illustration" under the guidance of Marina Kuznetsova, head of the department of graphic design in the art space of St. Petersburg State Pedagogical Institute.

Ekaterina Nosyonok, Deputy Head of the Department for Supervision of the Implementation of Federal Legislation of the Prosecutor's Office of St. Petersburg, spoke about the new project of the department - the comic strip "Seryozha Day, or Journey on Rights":

"The prosecutor's office of St. Petersburg is doing a lot of work to improve the legal literacy of citizens, especially young people. The prosecutor of St. Petersburg Andrei Gurishev instructed to apply the new formats. Then a competition was announced among the design students of St. Petersburg universities. They suggested that they come up with a product that would explain in simple language the norms of law - what is the right to education, health care, work, interest, convey information to more peers. At the same time, it is important to convey to the younger generation that the citizen also has responsibilities that he should know about, observe them. The best work came from young creators from St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design. Of course, we want to explain to the guys the rules of behavior on the Internet, the procedure for communicating with strangers on the phone: how to protect yourself from bad influence or scammers, not fall for the bait of extremists, resist terrorist threats and not become involved in sabotage activities."

Anna Makarova chose the comic format, since young people prefer to perceive information visually with a minimized amount of text and elements of modern slang. She chose a plot that was understandable to the audience - about a teenager, a schoolboy Seryozha, who woke up on his birthday and found VR glasses by the bed. They show a possible future, help the main character prevent offenses and crimes, help loved ones and acquaintances learn to understand their rights and obligations. The hero finds himself in different situations that are taken from real practical work, including the prosecutor's office of St. Petersburg. The comic also contains excerpts from laws, for example, from the Constitution of the Russian Federation.

"The creative approach and non-standard thinking of the student helped to find an interesting solution to the problem. Anna wrote the script for the comic illustrated it. It turned out to be a creative media product that can interest young people, get a response in the hearts of young people," explained Marina Kuznetsova, head of the department of graphic design in the art space of ²ÝÁñ¶ÌÊÓƵ.

The department plans to create a full-fledged animated cartoon based on the comic strip, which will be broadcast on regional TV channels.
