Students of the Institute of Textiles and Fashion Ƶ as part of a team of creative universities in St. Petersburg took part in the preparation of a documentary web project on the biography of Nadezhda Lamanova, a fashion designer who stood at the origins of Russian and Soviet fashion of the 20th century.
According to sketches, sketches and surviving photographs from museums, the girls recreated 15 costumes of the early twentieth century.
"In the project "Lamanova" I participated as a costume designer. It was a privilege to reconstruct three iconic dresses. The most difficult and exciting stage was the work on the author's dress for the Soviet actress, People's Artist of the RSFSR Alisa Koonen. It took a painstaking study of embroidery. I also restored two dresses of the Soviet period. A separate part of my participation in the project is shooting, where I not only advised the camera group on costumes, but was also present in the frame," explained Polina Poplavskaya.
The web project received a grant from the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. He will talk about the life path of Nadezhda Lamanova, highlight different periods of her work, sewing techniques, unique style, trend models and contribution to culture. The project is scheduled to end in June. Next, the team will prepare for the presentation.
