The Youth Forum of Engineering Professions TechnoTrack has ended at the Higher School of Technology and Energy of Ƶ. Young specialists of technical specialties got acquainted with future employers, learned about internship programs and production practices, passed career guidance master classes.
To date, enterprises of various industries have increased the demand for young engineers. Graduates of Ƶ - professional technologists - are expected in heat and power companies, at enterprises of the pulp and paper industry, chemical, textile, timber processing industries. Thanks to the forum, employers were able to communicate with potential candidates, talk about applied tasks that young personnel will solve.
"I graduated from the Higher School of Technology and Energy Ƶ in the direction of heat energy and began working in a commercial organization. Having gained experience, he began to master his own company in a similar industry. Organizing your own business will allow you to develop applied competencies faster, but there is a big enough chance to lose everything. Employment will qualify - fireproof achievements with which you can find a new, no less interesting place. Therefore, after graduation in the horizon of 4-5 years, I recommend going to a large hiring company and at the same time developing freelance. If the income in the second will be higher, then in the future you can fully go into business, otherwise - grow up the career ladder. The higher education of an engineer sets such basic settings, having mastered which, in the future, you will understand not only your specialty, but also geodesy, cartography, IT and can choose your personal professional path."
Evgeny Kikot, General Director of Nevskaya Energetika LLC
The TechnoTrack forum is focused on the modern format of interaction "school - university - enterprise," therefore the event is adapted to the target audience of schoolchildren and students. Traditionally, the program was opened by panel discussions on what to do after graduation or university. Representatives of leading Russian enterprises introduced young engineers to the specifics of production and the tasks facing the industry, spoke about the competencies demanded by young employees in employment. For example, employers highlighted knowledge of specialized disciplines (mechanics, electrical engineering, thermodynamics), the ability to design and read drawings, make calculations, and analyze data. It is also important for them that the specialist can solve complex technical problems at the junction of several disciplines.
"In addition to applied skills, in employment you need to prove yourself as active and interested people, engage in self-education, demonstrate a desire to learn new things and be useful to the corporation. After graduating from university, you will come out with a generalized concentration of knowledge and skills that needs to be supplemented. By the way, industrial practice is an opportunity not only to prove oneself, but also to communicate with qualified specialists, to learn from their experience even without further job offers. It's easier to start with a small company - there they will treat you more precisely and teach you everything you need, and then you will apply this experience in a large company."
Deputy Head of the Department - Head of the Department of PJSC Gazprom Kirill Fedorov
The forum program includes a large number of master classes, gaming practices and presentations by employer companies. Representatives of NJSC SvetoTekh Servis showed young engineers the tools for analyzing the condition of equipment and the process of centering equipment using a laser device for accurate alignment of shafts. Guests from INPRO Engineering and Consulting LLC clearly demonstrated how to design industrial buildings. They also talked about modern design methods. As part of their master class, the delegates of Eximo LLC explained what was happening with consumption and packaging waste. They taught future specialists how to increase the percentage of recycled waste in recycling with simple actions. Recruiters helped everyone to correctly form a resume, highlighting strong qualities.
Employers rated the forum from an applied point of view. In their opinion, this is a unique format when not a specialist comes to the employer, but representatives of large industry companies show interest in an open dialogue with young specialists.
