Milana Muravyeva, a student of the Engineering School of Clothing (College) of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design, became the winner of the investment project competition "From Idea to Result". In the final, the girl presented the startup "Live Billboards", an innovative advertising design that works as a powerful urban air filter. The project transforms outdoor advertising from "information noise" to the urban value category.
The future financier (Milana is studying finance at St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design) suggested using bio-shield technology by integrating photobioreactors with microalgae (chlorella) and panels with cryoresistant moss into standard advertising structures. One such device, according to the startup's author, replaces the absorption capacity of two hundred trees, actively purifying the air from carbon dioxide and fine dust in areas of the heaviest traffic.
Milan has also developed the Rain for Life engineering system, which collects rainwater for automatic irrigation, and a system of solar panels for energy supply to sensors.
"The essence of my project is to turn the advertising budgets of large companies into a tool for improving the urban environment. This is not just an advertisement, we are giving oxygen to the citizens. Brands do not just place a banner, but officially confirm their contribution to the environment through the ESG status. The system I want to implement is equipped with IoT sensors and AI monitoring, which transmit real-time air quality data to city services. I believe that these are not just eco—friendly technologies in marketing, but also a real help to the urban environment, while maintaining the main goal of entrepreneurship — making a profit," says Milana.
Milana was trained by her supervisor, marketing and entrepreneurship teacher Anton Purtov.
