The project of modernization of the Ƶ campus on Voznesensky was presented to the Vice-Governor Vladimir Knyaginin
17 June

St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design presented the project of university campus development. The program was defended at the Corporate University of St. Petersburg. The idea of the higher educational institution was considered by a special council, the scientific supervisor of which was vice-governor Vladimir Knyaginin. Work on the creation of the campus is carried out within the framework of the program "Campus 2.0", it has no analogues in the country, it was developed with the support of the city government and the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

For three months the team of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design has been developing a project on creation of an educational quarter on Voznesensky Avenue, aimed, among other things, at formation of a comfortable urban environment. The team defined the realization period as 3-5 years. VK, Sber and Gazprom-Neft have already shown interest in the project as potential partners.

The concept of modernization of the Ƶ campus on Voznesensky Prospect includes the creation of a unified system of electronic passes through scanning an individual QR code of a student, an application with the schedule of classes, information about credits and exams, navigation map, room reservation system, as well as the creation of a digital laboratory, sports ground, equipping the existing areas of the university.

The building of Ƶ on Voznesensky is characterized by a complex layout, and students often have difficulty finding the right classroom. To facilitate orientation, the team developed an interactive map that provides a detailed route when selecting a classroom.

Entrance area.

Access to the campus will be by scanning a QR code from the app. The code will store all student data and will be updated each time the app is opened. Once scanned, the security screen will display his/her details and photo as the second step of authorization.

Corridors.

A smart signage system will be installed in the corridors of the campus, it will reflect the room number, its occupancy, the current group and instructor, and the schedule of the next classes. LED lighting will be installed along the baseboards to provide orientation in case of power outages or emergencies. The ceiling is planned to be decorated with a decorative pattern for aesthetics.

Library.

The library of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design has an extensive collection of literature, including unique and rare editions. The project of transformation of the library space provides for the creation of a multifunctional zone where visitors can not only study literature, but also work and study in silence. As part of the modernization, the space will be equipped with a self-service coffee zone and a bookcrossing zone, which will allow students and teachers to exchange books. Comfortable places for reading and working will be organized by the windows, and the furniture will be made of recycled plastic.

Knitwear Department lounge area, 2nd floor.

The main activity of the department is directly related to working with fabric, which is reflected in the project of modernization of the recreation area. In the center of attention is a sofa made of fabric scraps, which emphasizes the creative and ecological approach. The space is also equipped with interactive screens with demonstrations of projects by students of the department. The plants are to be equipped with an auto irrigation system, and the walls are to be decorated with doodle-style patterns.

Common recreation area, 3rd floor.

The third floor is an active zone of student interaction. The walls of the room are equipped with niches for sitting with attachable tables, which will allow both to have a snack and to study. Food vending machines are also provided. An innovative solution of ceiling design with cylindrical forms will add volume to the space. A contest for the best illustration for the main wall of this zone is already planned. This proposal will allow student teams to be involved in the project, as well as to enrich their portfolios.

VK Education space, 4th floor.

In collaboration with VK Education, the campus will have a space of three functional zones: an amphitheater, a socializing area and workspaces. The zoning will make it possible to cover all student needs. The design will use the company's signature colors, and chairs and tables will be made of recycled plastic. Stabilized moss will be placed on the wall as a symbol of environmental awareness.

Digital and Additive Technology Department's lounge area, 4th floor.

Functional tasks in the development of the modernization plan will be solved by dividing the space into a transit space (movement between offices and corridors), a recreation zone and a work zone, the presence of a large number of outlets, and a large desk. The space will be characterized by minimalism, will be equipped with plenty of seating, interior and lighting objects.

Laboratory of digital and additive technologies, 1st floor.

The laboratory will be equipped with modern workstations and computers. Two interactive whiteboards, one of which is mobile, will be installed here. The shelves will be decorated with students' works made on a 3D printer. The main wall is decorated with a pattern called "students", created with the help of a neural network from SBER.

For us, it is about creating an innovative and cutting-edge environment where students and industry representatives can translate their creativity and technical ideas into real projects. The modernization of the campus will promote innovation in digital industrial design, create new technologies and products, and improve the practical learning environment for students. In addition, it will attract investment and sponsorship from companies interested in developing the digital design field. Undoubtedly, it will attract talented students and faculty, encourage research and development, and strengthen partnerships with industry. The modernization will provide access to a variety of resources such as libraries, laboratories, sports facilities and other facilities that contribute to the learning and development of students.

commented Alexandra Malakhova, team leader of Ƶ

The projects are built on the principle of the so-called dual campus. A campus that works inside the institution, open to students, as well as a campus that works for the city. By the way, when we will consider different measures of support, we will see, implementing our programs of improvement, development of urban environment, what we could do synchronously with our colleagues from the sphere of education.

noted the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Vladimir Knyaginin
