Once upon a time, Dynamo sneakers were known by literally everyone who was born in Leningrad. Since 1987, a joint production with the Italian company Simod has been producing shoes, which are popularly called "unkillable". These are not just shoes, but part of the city's history and industrial culture.
Today, this legend has been touched by students of the College of Modeling and Management Technology of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design, who are studying as part of the federal project "Professionalism" for designers and technologists in the shoe and leather industry.
During the tour, the children saw the full production cycle: cutting of materials, conveyor assembly of the shoe top, the casting process of polyurethane soles.
For future designers and technologists, it was not just an excursion, but an object lesson in how a high—quality product is born - from a blank to a finished pair.
Of particular interest were the GUS-1 and GUS-2 models. Their design remains relevant, and the models themselves have been produced and in demand for more than 30 years. The students saw by real example how universal design, technological thoughtfulness and well-tuned production allow products to remain competitive and profitable for decades.
