Ƶ - participant of the Unified Open Day of FP “Professionalism”
12 April

On April 12, the cluster of light industry of Ƶ opened its doors to the applicants of “Professionality” within the framework of the Uniform Open Doors Day. About 350 schoolchildren and their parents visited a number of interactive career guidance activities that day, which took place in the laboratories and workshops of the cluster equipped with advanced equipment.

Traditionally, the cluster organized professional tryouts for schoolchildren, where they could feel themselves as designers, constructors and technologists. At the professional tryouts in the laboratory of design, the applicants immersed themselves in 3D-scanning technologies and made human measurements and their own digital avatars with the help of a domestic Texel height scanner. In the additive technology lab, they learned how 3D printing is used to create prototypes of heels and lasts, and saw how 3D printers print shoes and bags.

In addition to learning about the latest technologies of the industry, the students had time to work with materials and accessories, making their first products from genuine leather. This vocational test was attended by Professionalit's ambassadors, who acted as the technical control department and assessed the quality of the products created by the entrants.

“Today I learned a lot about creating shoes. I think it is a very promising profession. What I liked most of all was when we scanned ourselves full-length and worked with leather. “Professionalism“ interested me.”

During the interactives, applicants had the opportunity to learn about the infrastructure of the laboratory sector of the cluster. Familiarization with the production complex, which houses a cutting area, a fleet of sewing machines and an assembly shop, took place as part of the tour, which was also held during the Single Open Day. The participants of the tour were shown advanced equipment for footwear and leather goods production, which the cluster is equipped with, in particular, an automated cutting complex, sewing equipment, units for tightening toe and heel parts of footwear, a press for gluing the sole, a programmable edge release machine, an ally molding machine and much more.

In addition, the guys were able to ask their questions to representatives of footwear enterprises, which in the system of long-term partnership act as reference employers in the framework of the implementation of “Professionalism” in Ƶ . The cluster partners include: CJSC “Torzhokskaya shoe factory”, JSC “PTC ‘Moderam’, factory of non-standard footwear ‘Mercury’, leather goods factory ‘Alliance’, LLC ‘Ortho-technologies’ and LLC ‘Rassvet’, LLC ‘Research and Production Technologies’, JSC ‘Egorievsk-shoe’.

General Director of the Factory of non-standard footwear “Mercury”, cluster leader Sergey Shcherbakov:

“Today the guests of the Unified Open Day in the cluster of Ƶ got acquainted with the technologies and equipment of the footwear industry, were able to “touch” with their own hands the products designed and manufactured by our students as educational and graduation projects. The applicants and their parents saw what the guys who entered the specialties of “Professional” have learned, held their designs in their hands and learned firsthand about the learning process, classes, practices, first difficulties and victories. I am sure that live communication between applicants and students will help to make a more informed choice of future profession”.

Director of the College of Technology, Modeling and Management of Ƶ Sergey Leonov:

“This year we are graduating already the second stream of “Professionals” students. And the first specialists of the footwear industry, who were trained in the cluster, are already working as technologists, modelers and designers at the enterprises of light industry, including the production of our partners. Some graduates entered our university to continue their education and do research, including in the cluster laboratories. We train specialists who are the future of the domestic light industry. It is for them to decide what the industry will become. And we will stand guard over their interests, provide knowledge and access to advanced technologies and the most modern infrastructure.
