The Museum of the St. Petersburg Avant-Garde has opened an exhibition "Forms of the avant-garde", presenting photographs of students of the Department of Digital and Additive Technologies of the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design, who turned to the language of constructivism and photo avant-garde of the first half of the 20th century, the works of Alexander Rodchenko, El Lisitsky and others.

The works use camera angles, contrast, pointlessness, complex shooting points, collage, integration of color spots. The images that arise are ambivalent and ambiguous, surreal. The images multiply, as if in a kaleidoscope, several layers of space are formed. The viewer is asked a puzzle: from what point is this or that frame made and what is depicted on it at all? The lines form phantom images, dissecting space, leaving the viewer time to reflect on where they come from and where they lead. When working with color, students often turn to the colors characteristic of the avant—garde - red and yellow, bright, unambiguously attracting attention. There is also work on the verge of poster art — the font invades the frame and loudly declares itself in color.

In a number of pictures, the viewer will be able to discover cinematography: homages to Sergei Eisenstein and Dziga Vertov. The precision of each frame, characteristic of the cinema award, appears in the pictures, where it is as if the film was paused. Another characteristic feature of photo avant—garde and constructivism is working with simple, utilitarian objects: building structures, household items, and tools become the heroes of the pictures.

In their photographs, the students turned not only to direct quoting, they were able to read and rethink it in a modern way, creating poster, avant-garde, surreal and at the same time modern photographs.
The exhibition was attended by students: Auzyak Ekaterina, Bayol Sofia, Golovina Alexandra, Ivanova Valentina, Kiselyova Anastasia, Kudryasheva Ulyana, Kuokkanen Luka, Merzlyakova Ksenia, Mokrushin Ivan, Alexander Cherepov, Anastasia Yakovleva, Yariz Savva.
