Students of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design took part in the Youth Forum “Ladoga”, which is held annually by Rosmolodezh in the Leningrad region. This year's event gathered more than 600 participants who worked on projects aimed at forming a modern identity and preserving historical heritage.

For six days the participants of the working group, which included Ekaterina, developed a project of a universal ethno-cultural center for the branches of the National Center “Russia”.
The project included a number of activities to involve young people in the preservation and actualization of our country's intangible ethno-cultural heritage. Among them are immersive ethno-theater - an exciting immersion of the audience in ethno-cultural practices through a sense of ownership of the experience of the peoples of Russia, ethno-hackathon - research intensives for the creation of new technological ethno-cultural products, ethno-kitchen - master classes to familiarize them with folk culinary traditions, as well as creative workshops for traditional folk crafts. In addition, the project plans to produce branded products, shoppers, T-shirts and sweatshirts with folklore elements in patchwork or weaving techniques.
The model of the youth ethno-cultural center was developed by the forum participants together with the Assembly of Peoples of Russia and the Russian Folklore Union. At the final presentation the project of the center was presented to Roman Karmanov, Director General of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, Ekaterina Putronen, Chairman of the Public Communications Committee of the Leningrad Region, and Marina Grigorieva, Chairman of the Youth Policy Committee of the Leningrad Region. Then the project will be sent to the organizing committee of the National Center “Russia”.
The student of Ƶ not only participated in the development of activities and the concept of the center, but also advised the participants of the working group in the field of folk crafts and traditional costume, because in addition to their main task students told about Russian traditions to other guests of the youth forum, showed them folk costumes, sang folk songs and held parties.
In the future, Ekaterina dreams of creating her own clothing brand, in which she plans to use ethnographic samples and stylize them for modernity.
