The results of the International Championship on Advanced technologies and Skills BRICS+ Future Skills & Tech Challenge 2024 have been summed up. It was organized by the Agency for the Development of Professions and Skills in cooperation with the Institute of Innovative Technologies in Business (IITB) and the Creonomika Cluster. In the competence of Digital Production, the third place was taken by a team of three universities, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, ITMO University and St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design, which included students who came to study in St. Petersburg from China.

This year, 12 teams from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Ghana, South Africa, Mexico, Bolivia and Peru took part in the competition. Students Jiu Tianze and Zhang Jiayuan represented Ƶ at the championship. At the university, they study the digital design of industrial facilities. Together with their team, the guys took the third place in the international competition. In the BRICS standings, they earned silver.
For 18 hours, the participants of the Championship solved applied tasks provided by the general partner of the competition in competence, the Savushkin Product company. The tasks were related to the engineering of a new high-tech food production, modeling and programming of industrial robots and automated systems.
"We had to plan the work, distributing tasks among the participants and simulate the innovative robotic food production of the future. Tianjie and I were responsible for modeling and programming. We developed digital counterparts of a robotic production cell and programmed technological processes in the Rational Production software. Then our team carried out first a virtual, and then a real commissioning of the cell. We presented our decision to the experts of the Championship," says Zhang Jiayuan, a student of Ƶ.
