Young scientists of Ƶ are among the winners of the XXX Kargin Readings in Tver
02 April

Students of the Department of Chemical Technologies named after Prof. A.A. Kharkharov of Ƶ were among the winners of the All-Russian scientific conference "XXX Kargin Readings" in Tver. The young scientists made reports on their scientific developments, and also took part in the poster section, presenting research in the field of dyeing fabric and yarn from metaaramid fibers, increasing the dirt-repellent and flame retardant properties of polyamide contact tapes, as well as the synthesis of stable colloidal solutions of zinc oxide and silver nanoparticles.

Kristina Samsonova took the second place with a report on dyeing of materials from metaaramid fibers for the production of protective clothing for pilots, rescuers, astronauts and representatives of other professions associated with the risk of injury from fire and thermal effects. Such materials in the untreated state can withstand the temperature of 450°C, but they are very poorly amenable to processing, including coloring. Scientists of the Department of Chemical Technologies named after Prof. A.A. Kharkharov of Ƶ have so far managed not only to obtain fabric from metaaramid fibers with a coloristic finish with a wide color range of blue-green and orange-red colors, but also to expand the temperature ranges of its use.

Ekaterina Trofimova took the third place, dedicating her presentation to obtaining a blue range of colors of metaaramid yarn. The student presented the results of the research, which was conducted in the framework of cooperation between Ƶ and the spinning and threading mill "Krasnaya Nitya", the management of which is interested in obtaining metaaramid yarn of blue color range. The scientists of the university have developed a method of two-stage dyeing with different classes of dyes.

Anna Sharapova's poster presentation on the synthesis of stable colloidal solutions of zinc oxide and silver nanoparticles took the second place at the conference. The student managed to achieve optimal synthesis conditions. Scientists of Ƶ established the presence of nanosized zinc and silver particles in solutions by spectrophotometric method. The average size of synthesized nanoparticles is approximately 25 nm. The obtained colloidal solutions can be used for modification of various surfaces to impart antimicrobial and other properties.

Maxim Stepanov, a student of the Department of Chemical Technologies named after Prof. A.A. Kharkharov, Ƶ, also took part in the poster presentation. He presented research in the field of combining dirt-repellent and flame retardant finishing of polyamide contact tapes. The work was carried out within the framework of cooperation between the university and the leading Russian manufacturer of textile tapes for various purposes "Lenta" in order to improve the functional properties of polyamide contact tapes.

Another poster presentation from the University of Industrial Technologies and Design was the research of Maria Smirnova, in which the student presented the production of colloidal solutions of silver nanoparticles. The scientists obtained stable colloidal solutions of nanosized silver particles by an environmentally adapted method. In addition, they obtained silver nanoparticles in the size range from 40 to 100 nm, investigated the possibility of synthesizing silver nanoparticles in solutions without the use of sodium citrate, and found that L-lysine can simultaneously act as a reducing agent and stabilizer.
