The competition program includes 16 unique nominations developed jointly with leading specialized universities of St. Petersburg, as well as 16 design schools. All three winning places in the nomination "Palace of Culture" were won by students of the University of Industrial Technology and Design. The participants had to develop a concept of empty niches of the Kirov Palace of Culture, which should decorate the building, attract the attention of passers-by and correspond to the architectural concept of the palace. The first place will bring the winner 57,000 rubles, the second - 34,000 rubles.
The golden award in this nomination was given to Anna Yamteeva, a student of the Institute of Graphic Design of Ƶ, with the concept of "Neurorelief". The central idea of the panel is the placement of banners imitating Soviet bas-reliefs. This is a reference to the 1935 contest, the results of which were never realized. All images were created using a neural network Leonardo.Ai . Each picture has a unique inimitable character. More than 4,000 tokens (attempts) were spent to create suitable compositions. The plot component is the versatility of the history of the Palace and its importance in the development of culture in the XXI century. The name of the building and the slogan "We have something to be proud of" are placed on the facade. A special feature of the backlight design is a special task not only to illuminate the banners, but also to emphasize the architecture of the building. It is proposed to place banner spotlights along the lower edge of the niche. With such lighting, a cone-shaped lighting scheme is created, which, along with banners, highlights the upper facade.
Nikita Glukhanko, a student of the Institute of Graphic Design at St. Petersburg State University, has silver. "I chose the metaphor of the framework in which a person can be. Personal or imposed, they interfere with development and self-expression. When scanning the QR code, a video is played in which one of the characters, depicted in an uncomfortable position, overcomes the walls that limit him, leaves them, straightens up to his full height, realizes the imaginary nature of his limitations," Nikita tells about his project.
Alena Bulatova, a student of the Institute of Graphic Design of St. Petersburg State University, has a bronze medal. The idea of her design project is to reflect the new concept of the "Urban Innovation Center" in the Kirov Recreation Center. The niches reflected the main ideas of the activities held on the basis of the house of culture - music, dancing, sports and others. The illustrations were made using neural network technologies, but with the preservation of aspects of historical heritage and constructivism, the style in which the DC building was made.
Anna Ivannikova, a student of the Institute of Graphic Design of St. Petersburg State University, won silver in the Zastava Junior nomination. She designed the logo and corporate identity for the Zastava Junior Rugby Club. According to the idea, the new logo in the form of a small griffin lion cub looks more calm in comparison with the main one due to the more rounded lines. The new hero gives the impression of a small, but moderately formidable character. The corporate identity is complemented by a decorative wing using lines and feather fills.
Silver in the nomination "Bionics" was awarded to Alina Biba, a student of the Institute of Spatial Environment Design of St. Petersburg State University of Technology and Technology. As part of the nomination, participants were offered a 3D concept of an individual design anthropomorphic mechanical prosthesis in a bionic style with the possibility of repeating the available movements of all joints of the arm and hand, passively. "The individual prosthesis is based on the principles of bionics. It is a technological solution developed according to the individual criteria of the customer. Taking into account her anatomical and functional features, as well as her individual needs, the prosthesis brings aesthetics as close as possible to the natural arm," says Alina.
Varvara Doronina, a student at the Institute of Information Technology and Automation of St. Petersburg State University of Technology and Technology, won silver in the Segezha Map nomination. Her project is the development of a paper tourist map and a mascot of Segezha, a city in Karelia. Since the city specializes in pulp and paper production, the origami of a paper crane, a symbol of hope and good luck, was taken as the basis for the author's work. It is present not only in the developed mascotte, but also in the booklet itself. "The center of the booklet is a square. He is the basis for origami. The central page opens from the side pages of the booklet, so that any card user can fold a paper crane out of it on their own. Dotted lines are drawn on the back of this page to help fold the crane correctly. On the right inner side of the booklet there is a step-by-step instruction on how to fold origami," says Varvara Doronina.
The audience Award in the nomination "Little Gourmet" was awarded to Sofia Knyazeva, a student of Ƶ. The task included creating a set of three-piece children's appliances, as well as 3D visualization and packaging for them. "A drop of paint in a set of children's cutlery symbolizes creativity, self-expression and childhood. By inventing stories and giving droplets names, the child develops his imagination. The tips of the cutlery are made in the form of silicone drops of calm and pleasant colors without images of heroes. Thanks to this, the set will be well integrated into any kitchen interior, it will be easy to find among other items. Each cutlery is engraved with "APOLLO GENIO" (a collaboration of Apollo genio and the Young Design competition), which is part of the design and balances the composition of the objects," says Sofia Knyazeva.
