From July 4 to 8, 2023, the XIX International Scientific and Practical Conference «New polymer composite materials. Mikitaev readings.» was held at the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov. This is the largest conference on polymers, which was attended by more than 700 people from different universities, scientific organizations and commercial companies in Russia.
Ƶ is a co-organizer of the conference and coordinator of the section «Smart Materials. Fibers and textiles». Active participation in the organization and holding of the section was taken by members of the Student Scientific Society of Ƶ. The event was held as part of the implementation in the form of subsidies from the federal budget to educational organizations of higher education for the implementation of activities aimed at supporting student scientific communities.
Young scientists edited abstracts, prepared posters, and presented samples at the SmartTex exhibition.
A delegation of students and postgraduates of the Department of Chemical Technologies named after prof. A.A. Kharkharov Ƶ with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation took part in the conference in person. The delegation was headed by the head of the department Elena Sashina, as well as Professor of the department, curator of the SSS Anna Mikhailovskaya.
Young scientists of the university presented the results of their research. Kristina Samsonova and Ekaterina Trofimova spoke about the results of their work in the field of dyeing aramid fibers. Ivan Elokhin presented a report on the modification of the structure and properties of polypropylene materials, Maxim Stepanov – on the composition for giving resistance to wear from loss of adhesion between the loop and hook components of the fastener tape.
In addition, the delegation included Anastasia Kuzmenko, a student of Ƶ, the head of the project «School of Young Scientists «Polymer Innovations», who recently won a grant from the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia in the amount of one million rubles. The students exchanged experiences and ideas of joint projects with young scientists from other universities.
