The light industry cluster of Ƶ won the "Made in St. Petersburg" award

St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design was awarded the "Made in St. Petersburg” award. The organizers of the competition, dedicated to the 320th anniversary of the Northern Capital, were the “Made in St. Petersburg” Foundation, the Legislative Assembly, the Russian Register and the Union of Light Industry Manufacturers. At the XX anniversary city-wide contest of goods and services the university presented the cluster of shoe and leather goods industry, opened by Ƶ within the framework of the federal project "Professionality". The awarding ceremony was held in the building of the Legislative Assembly.

Today the cluster of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design is facilitated with the latest equipment for research, prototyping, modeling, manufacturing of finished products, and represents a professional ladder for young professionals, where the level and qualification of the student, his versatility as a specialist able to control and understand almost all the processes in production is growing in constant connection with the specialized enterprise.

The award was given to the head of the cluster, General Director of "Mercury" Factory of non-standard shoes Sergei Scherbakov, a graduate of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design and the ideologue of the cluster concept, for high quality indicators of professional training in training personnel for shoe production. The factory is one of the key partners of the university and supporting employers of the created educational and production center along with JSC PTK Moderam, leather goods factory Alyans, Ortho-technologies LLC and Rassvet LLC, NP Technologies LLC.

“Our cluster was created on the basis of the college of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design, which since 1930 had been training specialists for the Skorokhod association. Leningrad school of shoemakers was the main source of personnel for the shoe industry. Today we continue our glorious traditions, applying new technologies and a practice-oriented approach to training. Our cluster cooperates not only with St. Petersburg enterprises, but also with shoe factories from Egorievsk, Kursk, Syzran, Torzhok and other cities. The industry awaits qualified specialists, and we hope that our graduates will find themselves at the best enterprises of our country working under the motto "Made in St. Petersburg", - said Sergey Scherbakov, the cluster head and general director of the Factory of Non-Standard Shoes "Mercury".

St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design in 2022 became one of the first educational and production centers, established under the federal project "Professionality". The University College of Technology, Modeling and Management (CTMU Ƶ) became the basic platform for training. It is here that the educational and production cluster "PromTechDesign - CTMM" was created, focused on the development of the footwear and leather goods industries.

The purpose of the contest is to identify the most high-quality goods and services produced by the city's enterprises for their further promotion in interregional and international markets under the Made in St. Petersburg brand, to provide consumers with objective information about the producers, to form a positive image of the city's enterprises and support their business reputation.
