Ƶ scientists presented the development in the field of adsorption and catalysis to oil and gas industry representatives
29 June

Scientists from the Institute of Applied Chemistry and Ecology of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design presented their development at the All-Russian Scientific Conference "Actual problems of the theory and practice of heterogeneous catalysts and adsorbents" in Suzdal. The round table was attended by about 30 representatives of large enterprises. The specialists and managers of the oil and gas companies were interested in the invention of the SPbGUPTD scientists.

Stepan Shagrov, a post-graduate student, Alina Druzhinina, a master's student and Raisa Vitkovskaya, professor of the Department of Engineering Chemistry and Industrial Ecology of Ƶ, made a report on application of semi-empirical and molecular-mechanical methods to confirm the geometry of the metal containing fragment clustered on polyacrylonitrile matrix. Scientists have developed a polymeric metal-containing catalyst for activation of chemical reactions in oil and gas refining, for purification of sulfur-containing products in gas fields, as well as for implementation of water treatment and water purification processes.

Now a team of Ƶ scientists is working on determining the structure and composition of catalytic metal-containing centers to produce catalysts with specified characteristics.
