The names of young designers of Ƶ, who entered the top 25 of project «Start. The best diplomas in design», become known.

On July 4, the experimental space «Raskroy» was crowded and noisy. Here, on Kazanskaya 25, fashion designers, painters, activists of the domestic fashion-industry got together, to define the best young authors of fashion projects, who performed their diploma’s collections in their native University on the eve. The fashion design competition «The best graduation collections» became the first step of the annual international project of Saint-Petersburg Union of Designers «Start», implemented with the support of the government of Saint-Petersburg.

Based on the score results of the expert jury, which included Chairman of the Board of the St. Petersburg Union of Designers Sergey Duzhnikov, President of the Union of Manufacturers of Light Industry Products Valentina Mironova, Honored Artist of Russia, Professor of Ƶ Irina Safronova, designer Yuri Pitenin, fashion illustrator and blogger Ekaterina Khotuntseva and other famous activists of fashion industry, 16 students from Institute of Costume Ƶ entered the top 25 of the project.

They were: Alina Bulgakova, Nadezhda Golskaya, Musharraf Shamsieva, Alyona Kelekhsayeva, Anastasia Brindzak, Arina Stolz, Alina Samarina, Makhym Orazmukhammedova, Irina Bratanova, Gunel Abbasova, Polina Koryukayeva, Veronika Petrova, Shushanna Grigoryan, Maria Veliyeva, Kira Orlova and Alina Sotkina.

In the nomination «Collection» Kira Orlova became the winner and the owner of the first place. A source of inspiration for Kira was her endless love for Russian decorative and applied arts and the work of the great Russian painters Malyavin and Vasnetsov. For the models the author uses genuine lacquer miniature of Palekh, cross-stitch and patchwork technique. The academic advisor is Professor of the Costume Design faculty of Ƶ Lyubov Dzhikiya.


The third place in the same nomination was given to Arina Stolz, who performed on the podium her positive colorful youth collection, which is current by color palette and by concept of conscious consumption, in which author actively promotes upcycling(creative approach to the «new reading» of old things) and ecological materials. The academic advisor of the project is Professor of the Costume Design faculty of Ƶ Elena Petrova.


In the nomination «Portfolio» graduates of the Costume Design Institute were out of competition: the 1st place - Alina Bulgakova, the 2nd place - Daria Kaluzhina, the 3rd place - Kira Orlova. Portfolio was made under the guidance of docent of the Costume Design faculty of Ƶ Alena Shishanova.




Alina Sotkina became the absolute winner in nomination «stage costume». Her collection differs in creativity, a colorful imaginative solution and non-standard approach to shaping. The academic advisor is Professor of the Costume Design faculty of Ƶ Elena Petrova. Designer got an invitation to an internship from a design studio KUNJUT.


Member of the organizing committee of the competition, director of Saint-Petersburg Union of Designers’ «Fashion design» direction, docent of Ƶ Alyona Shishanova: «The purpose of project is to demonstrate the level of creativity and skill of our graduates to the professional community of the fashion industry. University of Industrial Technologies and Design and Stieglitz Academy showed the best graduation works right after defense, to let representatives of industry and fashion houses of St. Petersburg have a unique opportunity to be the first to see, compare and invite young designers to internships».

Musharraf Shamsieva, Alyona Kelekhsayeva, Alina Bulgakova, Kira Orlova, Arina Stolz, Alina Sotkina were invited to internships in ConceptGroup. Nadezhda Golskaya became the only owner of an invitation to internships in LLC «Firma Sharm», Alyona Kelekhsayeva got it from brand SAINT-TOKYO.
