Ƶ presented a new educational industrial cluster for light industry and conducted professional tests for the future enrollees. The event was held all over the country.
The federal project “Professionalitet” initiated by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and involves the launch of a new type of vocational training with the participation of industrial enterprises - employers in the educational process. Saint-Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design is piloting the launch of “Professionalitet” in the direction of light industry in our region. The basic platform for training is the College of Technology, Modeling and Management. Thanks to federal funding, the university is creating an educational and production cluster “IndTechDesign - CTMM” on the base of College.
“The training will take place on the most modern equipment, which will be purchased with the funds of a federal grant in the amount of 100 million rubles, as well as with funds raised from supporting employers who are directly interested in getting the specialists they need, as well as from the university and the region,” said the Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Universities of Saint-Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Rector Ƶ Alexey Demidov. He noted that the total volume of purchase of production equipment for the Center “IndTechDesign - CTMM” will amount to 132 million rubles.
The rector of Ƶ mentioned in his speech the advantages of training in “Professionalitet”. He noted that all educational programs are developed with the participation of supporting employers, and will be implemented together with them for the entire period of training. Also, the advantage for applicants of the “Professionalitet” is training on a budget basis, about 200 budget places are allocated for these programs in Ƶ. In conclusion, Alexey Demidov noted employment guarantees as another advantage of the new project.
During the Open Day, more than 200 schoolchildren were able to pass professional tests in the Laboratory of Virtual Fashion and Digital Design of Ƶ. They got acquainted with scanning and 3D modeling technologies using the TEXA scanner (Skolkovo) as an example, and even received their digital twin from the organizers. With the help of VR glasses, the guys drew with digital brushes, trying themselves as a modern shoe designer. Also, future graduates plunged into the study of 3D printing technology in the production of products, and even worked with the material and accessories, making their first leather souvenirs.
In addition to interactive professional tests for schoolchildren, a presentation of the cluster on light industry and the “Professionalitet” project as a whole was organized at the “Boiling Point - IndTech Design”. Parents, teachers and schoolchildren learned about the advantages of training, admission opportunities, the number of places for budget admission to the “Professionalitet” programs in 2022, got acquainted with representatives of shoe companies that act as supporting employers in the long-term partnership system. By the way, the coalition of industry enterprises that joined the University of Industrial Technologies and Design at the start of the new project consisted of 6 companies: JSC "PTK “Moderam”, factory of non-standard shoes “Mercury", Saint-Petersburg orthopedic shoe factory, leather goods factory “Alliance”, LLC “Ortho-technologies” and LLC “Rassvet”.
At the Open Day, Andrey Basavin, Deputy Director General for Certification and Interaction with Organizations of JSC PTK Moderam, one of the key partners of Ƶ in the implementation of “Professionalitet” programs, addressed schoolchildren and their parents: “Moderam works with large companies such as Russian Railways, Gazprom, Lukoil, Norilsk Nickel, Rosneft, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has now joined, for which we have developed shoes for firefighters. We are always trying to find new staff. Thanks to the “Professionalitet” project, we hope to replenish our ranks with purposeful employees who will be able to bring something new to our field of activity.”
