The University carries our fundamental as well as applied research in the following areas:
- Development of competitive industrial technologies for goods of the light industry and their design;
- Development of modern techniques to manufacture textile materials;
- Development of effective equipment, machinery and apparatuses for light and textile industries, for chemical fibres production;
- Development of processes to produce new competitive fibre- and film-forming polymers and composite materials, including nanomaterials;
- Improvement of environmental protection;
- Economic problems, management and development of information systems in textile and light industries and printing industry;
- Development of technical aesthetics in industrial and graphic design (art studies);
- Improvement of publishing business, research into specific terminology and problems of computer-aided translation (Linguistics);
- Social problems of training specialists for textile and light industries, printing industry, technology and automatisation of printing industry.
