Construction and installation work in the new comfortable departure waiting area was completed on September 30. Currently, the facility, located in the south wing of the airport, is preparing for its official opening.
A large-scale project for the development of the infrastructure of the air harbor of the Northern capital was initiated by the REDMOND brand in the year of its 20th anniversary in Russia and was implemented in close partnership with Pulkovo Airport. The SMARTdesign Foundation of the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design was responsible for bringing the idea to life.
The author of the design project "REDMOND Zones" is Alexandra Savelyeva, a fourth-year student at the Institute of Spatial Environment Design of ²ÝÁñ¶ÌÊÓƵ. Her concept is built around the idea: "what we think about most is the house when we're on the road." The central element of the location was a three-section installation in the form of a house, symbolizing comfort. The space is equipped with modular sofas, individual chairs with built-in charging stations for gadgets and branded brand equipment. Supervisor - Associate Professor of the Department of Interior Design and Equipment ²ÝÁñ¶ÌÊÓƵ Andrey Zuev.
Thanks to the expertise of the SMARTdesign Foundation, which oversaw the implementation of the project, Alexandra's concept was successfully adapted to the strict technical requirements and security standards of the international airport.
"For the university, the implementation of the Alexandra project is a confirmation of the high level of training of future designers. Thanks to the synergy with the REDMOND brand and the SMARTdesign Foundation, the student idea has transformed into a real and tangible element of urban infrastructure right now, "the Institute of Spatial Environment Design of ²ÝÁñ¶ÌÊÓƵ noted.
Another interactive element that appeared in Pulkovo as part of a joint project is the Weigh Luggage in St. Petersburg Cats scale, created by the REDMOND creative team. Passengers can find out for free the weight of luggage not only in kilograms, but also in "St. Petersburg cats" - at the rate of 4 kg per cat. The result is accompanied by thematic illustrations, including the famous Hermitage cats of St. Petersburg. They are accompanied by the mascots of Pulkovo Mile and Polet Airport, as well as Edmond, the REDMOND mascot.
