On May 15, 2026, Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, visited St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design.

During the visit, she met with the rector of the university Alexei Demidov, vice-rector for the development of educational programs Natalya Klimova and vice-rector for ensuring educational activities and student contingent Yevgeny Ananichev.

During the meeting, issues of developing the university environment, implementing educational and youth projects, as well as supporting student initiatives were discussed.

During the working meeting, Olga Petrova got acquainted with the infrastructure of the university, as well as with the spaces, projects and initiatives that form the modern educational and student environment in Ƶ. The program of the visit included a visit to the Center for Unmanned Systems, a financial center, Olga Malyarova's atelier - a graduate of the university and a world-renowned designer, a digital solutions laboratory, a sports museum, a university boiling point, and the City Student Center of St. Petersburg State Pedagogical Institute. And the final stage of the program was a visit to the university fundamental library, the fund of which has been formed since 1930 and is replenished annually, including rare book publications.

The visit made it possible to present the main directions of development of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design, which combine technology, creativity, science, sports and student activity, creating conditions for comprehensive development and self-realization.
