Rector of Ƶ Alexey Demidov congratulates veterans, employees, teachers and students on Victory Day:
May 9, 1945 - the day when for millions of people the worst war in history ended. For us, this is not just a date on the calendar, it is a reminder of the cost of Victory.
During the war years, our university, like the whole country, lived according to the laws of wartime. Many teachers and students went to the front, and those who stayed worked in scientific laboratories, solving the tasks of the front, contributing to the Victory. Their names are in the history of the university, in the history of Russia.
We are talking today not only about heroism on the front line. We are talking about the fortitude of those who studied and worked in the rear, who believed in Victory and brought it closer with their work.
The memory of those events is not just respect for the past. This is a responsibility to the future. We are obliged to keep the truth about the war so that new generations know: our freedom is not a given, but the result of a great feat.
I sincerely congratulate veterans, teachers, staff and students on Victory Day! Let the peaceful sky be above us, and success in science and work will be our contribution to the future of the country.
