Within the framework of the project "Save protected areas in large cities: from monitoring and assessment to practical solutions," second-year students of the Institute of Business Communications of PROMTECHDESIGN University conducted sociocultural monitoring in the state nature reserves "Pike Lake" and "Komarovsky Bereg."
Under the leadership of the candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor Yulia Pashedko, future specialists in the field of tourism and media communications studied the infrastructure of the territories, routes, marking of ecological paths and assessed the comfort of visiting them for organized groups and individual tourists. The collected data formed the basis of research papers presented as part of the training course "Socio-cultural technologies in tourism."
The project is being implemented by the St. Petersburg city branch of VOOP and the Sea Oaks Foundation with the support of the Presidential Nature Fund. The research is also facilitated by the Directorate of Protected Areas of St. Petersburg and the Committee for Nature Management. Further cooperation of organizations with the university will continue.
