The delegation of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design, headed by the rector of the University Alexey Demidov, presented advanced developments and achievements in the field of fashion industry, light industry and digital design at the IV International Forum "Commonwealth of Fashion". The forum was aimed at the issues of positioning national brands, solving the problems of the light industry at the legislative level.

The Congress brought together over 2,500 participants from 33 countries. Among them are designers, parliamentarians, representatives of relevant departments, organizations of creative industries and light industry, educational institutions and tourism of the CIS countries. Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko and senators of the Russian Federation took part.

Alexey Demidov, Rector of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design, took part in the forum track "Production", the panel discussion was entitled "Technological sovereignty of the leather and shoe industries — a guarantee of ensuring the national security of the country". The event was organized by the Russian Union of Leather and Shoe Workers. Alexey Demidov presented to the audience the decisions taken by the university regarding the training of personnel for the leather goods industry: This includes a production cluster opened within the framework of the federal project "Professionalism" with the latest equipment for working with shoes and leather, and a master's degree program in biomechanics of human movement, where young specialists are already conducting research in the field of correction of walking patterns thanks to rehabilitation shoes.

Alexandra Malakhova, Head of the Marketing Department of the Technological Leadership Office of Ƶ, presented the university's technoprojects in the field of digital fashion at the session "Fashion-Tech: data that is changing the fashion industry from creation to shopping." The Roscongress Foundation acted as the organizer. Alexandra demonstrated the achievements of undergraduates of the Fashion-Tech educational program: a location created in the metaverse, where for the first time in Russia students defended a thesis project, an exhibition about the history of Soviet fashion, consisting of exhibits for virtual fitting in augmented reality, a merch for the Designer — a T-shirt with a print that is set in motion using a special application, a collection of sportswear clothes for the St. Petersburg State University esports team, which exists both in the real world and in the digital world, and much more.

Lisa Anisimova, a student of the Costume Design Institute of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design, demonstrated the author's project "Fabulous Heritage" in the exposition part of the Commonwealth of Fashion forum. The project is a collection of images inspired by Russian fairy tales.

"Sometimes people ask me how my fairy tales are created. In fact, it all starts very simply — with a small sketch and a great desire to make something beautiful. Then I pick up fabrics, colors, textures, try, change, paint again. I add the details one at a time — a bead, a stitch, a pattern. And suddenly the image begins to come to life, as if it tells him what he needs. So step by step, a costume is born, which contains both my imagination and a piece of a real Russian fairy tale," says Lisa.
