20 August

Sofia Zotova, a master's student at the Department of Technology of Artistic Processing of Materials and Jewelry at St. Petersburg State University, has developed a set of jewelry reflecting a scientific approach to space exploration and design called the Sum of Technologies. The work was performed as part of the student's master's thesis.

The parure is a symbiosis of aesthetics and futuristic technologies and was designed by the author in the concept of an approach to the transhumanist paradigm of Stanislav Lem, the author of the philosophical work "The Sum of Technology", in which he anticipated the creation of virtual reality, artificial intelligence, developed the ideas of human autoevolution, the creation of artificial worlds.

The earrings designed by Sofia have an asymmetrical shape resembling dynamic lines and contours, symbolizing technological progress and evolution. One element is more elongated, while the other is more compact, creating the effect of movement. The elements of the earrings are modular, allowing you to change their combinations or add new details, thus reflecting the idea of technology flexibility and adaptability. The colors range from cool metallic blues and blues with purple to pink. This palette is created by special oxidation of titanium.

The parure is made using titanium alloy stamping technology and white gold, sapphires and diamonds. The metal elements are processed using anodizing to create an unusual color effect.

The scientific supervisor is Vladislav Zhukov, Professor of the Department of Technology of Artistic Processing of Materials and Jewelry.
