Adel Burdina, a student at the Department of Artistic Processing of Materials and Jewelry at the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design, has designed a set of dishes intended for drinking kumis, a Turkic beverage that is an integral part of the Turkic food culture. The Turkic kovert also includes the Astau dish, which serves as a plate for serving beshbarmak. This work was completed as part of the student's master's thesis.
The developed kuvert system consists of eleven Turkic elements: a choron goblet, an astau dish, six pialas, an izhau ladle for kumis, tongs for beshbarmak, and a tray. The astau is the dominant module in the Skify kuvert system. The entire kumis service is placed on a tray. The kuvert is made using woodworking techniques on a lathe and a CNC milling machine from black walnut.
Adel's service was developed in the context of her applied analysis of the architectonic morphology and ornamental decor of the spatial settlement of the Turkic ethnic group in the artistic design of the historical kuvert "Scythians." Her research is relevant due to the uniqueness of the architectonic morphology characteristic of the traditional culture of the Turkic ethnic group, as well as the possibilities of integrating it into the modern design of historical and cultural complexes.
Her research is supervised by Vladislav Zhukov, Professor at the Department of Artistic Materials Processing and Jewelry Design at Ƶ.
