The opening ceremony of the International Summer School was held in the Academic Council Hall of the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. Summer schools, as a format for student exchange between different countries, are an integral part of the international educational process. These events bring together talented individuals, open new horizons, and provide opportunities for professional and personal growth.
The ceremony was attended by over 120 students from Wenzhou University (China), who will be studying costume design, women's clothing construction, art communication, and technical safety for a month. The training of Chinese students will be carried out at the Department of Costume Design, Advertising and Public Relations, as well as Engineering Chemistry and Industrial Ecology at Ƶ. Students will not only have a rich educational program, but also the opportunity to explore the culture of St. Petersburg during one of the peak tourist seasons.
The Chinese students were welcomed by representatives of St. Petersburg University: Natalia Klimova, Vice-Rector for Educational Programmes Development at Ƶ, Dmitry Ananichev, Director of the Center for Asian Cooperation at Ƶ, and Sergey Chepinsky, Head of Educational Programmes Development at the aforementioned center.
The students are already sharing their impressions of their stay in the cultural capital of Russia on social media and are looking forward to starting their classes.
"We are confident that this experience will be memorable for the participants and will lay the foundation for long-term scientific and educational cooperation between our universities," Natalia Klimova said at the opening ceremony.
On July 20, Ƶ will host a group of students from Chinese universities, including Tsitsikar University, Chongqing International Business and Economics University, and Shandong University of Art and Design, as part of a summer school on industrial design.
