A delegation from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications visited St. Petersburg. The Chinese delegation's first visit to the Russian capital began with a meeting with the leadership of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. The dialogue took place at the university's premises.
The international meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The delegations discussed scientific and educational collaboration, as well as plans for implementing joint educational programs. Both parties expressed their hope for fruitful long-term and mutually beneficial relations between the universities. The meeting concluded with the signing of a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by Alexey Demidov, Rector of the Ƶ, and Ye Meilan, Rector of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
Today, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications has 25,000 undergraduate students and 10,000 postgraduate students. The university has established 18 national research and innovation centers and laboratories. It also has a number of international collaborative research laboratories around the world. It is the first university in China to focus on telecommunications, with the goal of building a world-class university in the field of electronic information and training engineering leaders for both the academic and industrial sectors.
Nanjing is a central city in eastern China and the capital of Jiangsu Province, which has 13 Double-First Class universities, second only to Beijing and Shanghai in terms of number. Nanjing ranks 3rd in China and 6th in the world among science cities in 2023 according to the Nature Index.
The delegation from St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design was represented by Alexey Demidov, Rector of the University, Natalia Klimova, Vice-Rector for Educational Program Development, Dmitry Ananichev, Director of the Center for Asian Cooperation, and Sergey Chepinsky, Head of Educational Program Development at the Center for Asian Cooperation. The Chinese delegation included the Rector of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Ye Meilan, the Deputy Director of the Rector's Office, Sheng Li, the Director of the Student Affairs Department, Wang Haiyan, the Dean of Tongda College, Sheng Jianhua, and the Dean of the Bell Honors School, Yi Mindong.
