Monumental Art Students at the Ƶ on an Out-of-Class Trip to Veliky Novgorod
17 July

The second year students work in the open air, studying the sights of the ancient city, architectural monuments of the 11th-19th centuries, included in the UNESCO Fund as a world cultural heritage. The architecture of Veliky Novgorod is organically combined with the natural landscape, which is reflected in the works of students.

The third year traditionally performs copies of ancient frescoes in the temples of the 12th century Spas on Nereditsa, Simeon the God-Receiver of the 15th century Zverin Monastery, the 17th century Znamensky Cathedral. Young artists study the style of past masters, the color scheme of frescoes, and the harmony of monumental paintings in unity with architecture.
