PROMTECHDESIGN University and Tchaikovsky Textiles: Partnership in Science and Training

Scientists from the Prof. A.A. Kharharov Department of Chemical Technology at St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design have developed a professional retraining program “Chemical Technology for Finishing Textile Materials” for technologists and engineers at Tchaikovsky Textile, one of Russia's leading manufacturers of fabrics for workwear.

Over the course of a year, employees underwent training under the supervision of the program's author, Associate Professor Natalya Dashchenko, who was part of the commission together with representatives of the factory.

Today, Tchaikovsky Textile is one of the university's key partners in scientific and educational activities. The factory tests scientific and technological solutions developed by Ƶ scientists, produces “smart fabrics” with special properties developed by university scientists in research laboratories opened as part of the Ministry of Education and Science's “Priority 2030” technological leadership program, Students undergo industrial training at Tchaikovsky Textiles and work in close collaboration with the plant's technologists. For the company itself, the university is an important partner in terms of forming the enterprise's personnel reserve.

The retraining program has resulted in an increase in the level of engineering and technical personnel at Tchaikovsky Textiles, meeting the domestic economy's demand for the introduction of modern production technologies.
