The “KHIMPROM-2025” Engineering School has completed its work in Tomsk. It brought together participants of the Olympiad "I am a professional", a project of the presidential platform "Russia is a country of opportunities", interested in the development of the chemical industry in Russia. Ƶ was presented by Valeria Dedlovskaya, a student who studies at the university in the field of "Chemical technology of organic and inorganic substances". As part of the engineering school, Valeria worked as part of the team on a solution for the production of polybutylene terephthalate for the SIBUR petrochemical company.

The Tomsk Engineering School was attended by about 100 students from universities in Irkutsk, Kursk, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Rostov, Sverdlovsk, Tambov, Tomsk, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, Yaroslavl regions, Krasnoyarsk, Perm and Stavropol Territories, the Republics of Bashkortostan, Tatarstan and Khakassia, as well as Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Valeria Dedlovskaya, a student of Ƶ, took the second place as part of the team, having developed a solution for SIBUR. "Using SIBUR's existing capacities and raw materials, we proposed to establish production of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). This polymer is included in the register of import substitution of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, as it is not produced in our country, but is used in many industries. For example, elements of the engine compartment of cars, housings of household appliances such as refrigerators, coffee makers, washing machines, as well as internal parts, for example, for fans, are made from PBT. In addition, PBT is used to make sportswear, bicycle seats and other sports equipment (clubs, helmets, etc.), bristles for toothbrushes, braids for wires, relays, carpets, and so on," says Valeria Dedlovskaya, a student at Ƶ.

In addition to working on the case for the company, the participants of the engineering school organized excursions to the Tomskneftekhim and BIAXPLEN plants of SIBUR Holding, as well as panel discussions with industry representatives.
