Ƶ held a competition on the use of neural networks in video advertising production

The University of Industrial Technologies and Design has announced the results of the Hackfest-ADVERTISING 2025 competition on the use of neural networks in video advertising production. The competition was organised by the Department of Advertising and Public Relations at Ƶ and the university's Centre for Creative Industries. Hackfest-REKLAMA is now in its third year. This season's partners were the federal television channel Subbota! and the company Baltiyskiy Leasing.

For the Subbota! TV channel, the contestants had to use neural networks to generate an advertisement for one of the shows or for the entire line-up of shows for the channel's television broadcasts or its digital platforms.

Baltic Leasing asked students to use AI to create a video advertisement for a new leasing company, shaping its image as a reliable supplier of equipment.

Applying their knowledge and skills in marketing and communications, technical video production, and creative skills, students from the University of Industrial Technologies and Design learned how to create queries and instructions for neural networks in the production of video advertisements.

Eight teams of university students took part in the competition. First place went to Roman Bespalov, a student at the Higher School of Printing and Media Technologies at Ƶ, with a promotional video about a leasing company commissioned by Baltic Leasing.

The jury awarded second place to Lev Peregudov, a student at the Institute of Business Communications at Ƶ, for his promotional video for the TV channel Subbota, dedicated to the show Boginya Shoppinga (Goddess of Shopping). Third place went to Alexandra Zubareva, a student at the Institute of Business Communications at Ƶ, also with a promotional video for this show.

The students who took the first three places in the competition received valuable prizes from the Baltic Leasing company.

Three other students from the university were awarded special prizes from the Subbota! TV channel. The promotional videos by Anna Smyslova and Evgenia Eremina, students at the Institute of Business Communications at Ƶ, and Anna Ivannikova, a student at the Institute of Graphic Design at Ƶ, will be shown on the channel and published on its digital platforms.





The jury consisted of Sergey Zavistovich, chief designer at Baltic Leasing LLC, and the creative director of marketing at the Subbota! TV channel. Bogdan Rakhmankulov, Director of the North-West Representative Office of the Association of Communication Agencies of Russia Natalia Pilatova, representatives of the Centre for Creative Industries of Ƶ and the Department of Advertising and Public Relations of Ƶ.
