The TechnoTrack Youth Forum of Engineering Professions has ended at the HSTE Ƶ. The event is being held at the university for the second time and is aimed at the interaction of engineering employers and engineering students. Negotiations on employment, internships and industrial practice are held at the forum site, career opportunities are presented to young professionals at their enterprises, and career guidance workshops are held.

The ideologist of the TechnoTrack Forum is specialists from the Higher School of Technology and Energy, which today trains technologists and engineers for thermal power companies, the pulp and paper industry, chemical enterprises, timber processing enterprises and others. The launch of TechnoTrack last year was a response to the sharply increased demand from enterprises in various industries for young, talented engineers. The forum solved several tasks at once: the student negotiates with employers on the same platform without interrupting his studies, having the opportunity to choose further steps in the format of internships, internships and employment, while industry enterprises find the necessary specialists in their field, closing the personnel gap.

In two years of operation, TechnoTrack has focused on the modern format of school—university—enterprise interaction, so the forum program is planned taking into account two target audiences: students and schoolchildren. For each audience, the event begins with a meeting and presentations of career opportunities from leading Russian companies, where forum guests have the opportunity to ask clarifying questions about their future in a particular industry. In their speeches, representatives of the labor market tell young engineers about the state of the industry and what they need to pay attention to when applying for employment: what kind of job a student without experience can expect, where and how to look for suitable vacancies, how to interest an employer, whether it is possible to change jobs after a few days, months, how a student does not fall for deception when applying for employment.

This year, about forty companies from various business sectors took part in the TechnoTrack Forum: Gazprom Energoholding LLC, Atomenergoproekt JSC, TGC-1 PJSC, ETRA, Ilim Group JSC, PhosAgro, Sevzapvnipienergoprom LLC, Kinoarenda, GSR Energo JSC, LLC VodaGazTeplo-Service, Ivax-Avers, Siberian Central Bank, ROSPRIRODNADZOR, Pigment JSC, Gotek North-West JSC and others. About 700 students from the future engineers became guests of the forum. The program of the Forum includes a large number of master classes, game practices and presentations by employers. Their participants take place in dynamics, in groups, along a pre-arranged route. So, this year the students mastered the control of unmanned aerial vehicles, the operation of drones, the basics of aerodynamics, and tried to fly on simulators. Young thermal power engineers tried their hand at modeling real processes of ensuring uninterrupted supply of heat to consumers in a professional test from the Fuel and energy Complex of St. Petersburg. The Tsvetogorsky CBK master class helped students understand the basics of investing, learn how to choose the right investment instruments and minimize risks. Karelia Pulp company offered a situational business game to develop leadership skills in a crash in the desert. SUE Vodokanal of St. Petersburg confirmed the thesis that water is the main resource for all time through the development of the production process of the city's water supply. The cases of successful implementation of the 5C system at enterprises of various industries were presented by the Electroapparat company.

And the specialists of NPAO Svetotekhservice presented two dynamic stands of exactly the same design to the students. One of them was previously "upset", the other was assembled according to the precision maintenance method. On both stands, basic diagnostics were shown — measuring vibration, temperature and measuring rotation speed using a strobe light. According to the testimony, it was clearly visible when the assembly was carried out according to the methodology, and when "carelessly". Additionally, the operation of a laser alignment device on one of the stands was shown. The business quest "Eternal Values" became interesting - the history of the USSR space program, presented through a series of management cases, in each of which it is necessary to make a strong managerial decision based on the values of the corporate culture of partnership and results.
Throughout the day, employers' stations operated in the student leisure area at the Consulting Center, where everyone could negotiate employment, internships, and targeted recruitment. The vacancies of the forum's partner employers can be found on the forum's website. For the convenience of searching, they are placed according to the field of study: machine operators, chemists, environmentalists, logisticians, managers, mechanics and electromechanics, technologists, power engineers, electric power engineers and others.

Employers highly appreciated the event and its format, which allowed them to communicate not only with students and college students who are already potential candidates for employment, but also with schoolchildren, thus contributing to the future of their companies today. The experts were pleased with the friendly and cozy atmosphere of the forum, the active audience, the interest in the eyes of the guys and the desire to receive information.
