16 April

A street exhibition on child safety issues has come to an end near Bolshoy Gostiny Dvor: more than a million people watched it in three weeks. The exhibition "Posters of Hope", dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the city Prosecutor's Office, was organized by the Petersburg Diary publication. The authors of the works, students of the University of Industrial Technology and Design, shared their impressions of participating in the project.

"I was interested in the relevance of the contest. The development of a child directly depends on the family, so I tried to convey to people in a simple and visual way how important it is to treat a child at home. I just can't tell you how much emotion I felt when I found out that my poster had become part of an exhibition that was taking place in the city center. A real little miracle!"

Polina Seredkina

"It was interesting to get the opportunity to express your opinion on important and exciting topics by creating a poster. Unfortunately, I cannot say that I am completely satisfied with my work, which I have participated in the project. But it's still great that I saw my work in the very center of the Northern Capital and told my friends about it."

Diana Borodachenkova

"It turned out to be fascinating to look for an approach not to scare off the viewer, but to interest and draw attention to the problem. I turned to such a topic as the absence of children at home at night. The image of a child on a swing was taken as a basis and slightly dramatized: instead of a child's figure, there was a question mark. This is an appeal to parents: do they know where their children are late at night?".

Ekaterina Galkina

"Participating in the project gave me the feeling that I could be useful to someone, I could help or give people hope through a visual medium — a poster. It is important to realize that my work has really benefited not only the citizens in a difficult situation, but also myself. In the sense that I can create not just a beautiful picture, but a meaningful design."

Anna Ermakova

"For me, participating in a social project is an opportunity to speak out. The issue of child safety is relevant, so it was important for me to raise awareness of the townspeople about it. It's nice to see your work in the city center! I've heard reviews that each poster has found its own response from passersby. Many stopped, looked at the posters and read the texts."

Elizabeth Shmagina

"An incredible experience, both in terms of emotion and significance. When I learned that my work would be presented in the very center of St. Petersburg, among the many creations of talented participants, I was filled with pride — and at the same time, I felt awe. After all, this is not just an exhibition — it is an opportunity to talk to people without words, to convey pain, hope and faith through an image."

Vladislavа Dudkinа

"It was so unexpected to see my work among those selected to participate in the exhibition. In my opinion, such cooperation with the city prosecutor's office is a good thing. There is a lot of social advertising in St. Petersburg, and students allow us to expand its diversity. And it was also nice to see how passersby stopped and carefully studied our work!".

Angelica Shah

"Participation in the project is interesting primarily because it provides an opportunity to talk about a really important issue through creativity. When you work on a social poster, especially on the topic of child safety, you realize that every successful metaphor or vivid visual image can make someone think, and therefore potentially prevent trouble."
