The city competition of clothes made of non-standard materials "Breaking traditions" was held at the Engineering School of Clothing (college) of Ƶ. On the podium of the University College, models presented original images made of liquid glass, epoxy resin, acoustic foam rubber, vinyl film, jute rope, artificial plants, tree bark, gypsum and other unexpected materials from young designers of St. Petersburg. In total, about a hundred works were put forward for the competition, including both single models and entire collections.


The contestants competed for the victory in two categories: "Single model" and "Author's collection".
Several designers became winners in the "Single Model" nomination: Ekaterina Gilyazova (Ƶ) with the "Ice Soul" model made of newspapers, paper, cellophane bags, cardboard and food film, Margarita Osmankina (St. Petersburg Fashion College) with the "Texture of Oblivion" model made of food film, paper, black dry pastels and Velcro fasteners, Daniil Smolin (St. Petersburg Fashion College) with a Futurist model made of acoustic foam rubber, a covering awning and vinyl film, as well as a design team that included Rasmiya Hajibalayeva, Arina Karakozova, Daria Zavyalova and Angelina Oleksiuk (Engineering School of Clothing, Ƶ), with a model "Selena's Eclipse" made of exhaust pipe, soft pipe, mounting foam, kraft paper, parchment and a geographical map.
The second place in the nomination was shared by Ekaterina Kutyreva (Ƶ Clothing Engineering School) with the "Fiery Ascension" model made of matchboxes, wrappers and film, Olga Zakharova (Ƶ Clothing Engineering School) with the "Yusya" model made of discs, film and packages, Elizaveta Boyko (Ƶ Clothing Engineering School) with the "Butterfly Lullaby" model." from garbage bags and liquid plastic, and Irina Bondarenko (Ƶ Engineering School of Clothing) with a "Tighten" model made of sneakers.

The third place was awarded to Marina Khokhlova (Ƶ Clothing Engineering School) with the "Stained Glass Symphony" model made of liquid glass, bags and plastic bottles and Vladislav Gvozdev (Ƶ Clothing Engineering School) with the "Kis-kis" model made of candy wrappers.

The audience Award in the nomination was won by Kirill Sachuk (Ƶ Engineering School of Clothing) with a "Veil of Sadness" model made of newspapers, magazines, cardboard and a covering film.

In the "Author's Collection" nomination, the winners were: Anastasia Khmelevskaya (Ƶ School of Clothing Engineering) from the collections "ZYA", created from branded packages of the Golden Apple store, and Vasilisa Begimova (Ƶ School of Clothing Engineering) from the collections "The Bright Future of the Soviet Past" from photographs, newspapers, floor carpets, artificial lawns, vines and tree bark.

The second place in the nomination was taken by Victoria Benisovich (Engineering School of Clothing Ƶ) from the collections of "Echo elements" made of floor coverings, ceramic tiles and ethylene vinyl acetate mat and Victoria Reshetnikova (Engineering School of Clothing Ƶ) from the collections of "Resurrectionist" made of gypsum, silicone, wire, thermal protection for pipes, foam and cardboard.

The third place was shared by Elizaveta Fenogenova (Ƶ Clothing Engineering School) with a "Fleur de rêve" collection of construction film, tape, spray paint, construction ties, wire, rubber gloves, paper and satin ribbons, Ekaterina Yesterday and Anna Nekrasova (Ƶ Clothing Engineering School) with a "Tide of Darkness" collection of garbage bags., bushings, wrapping paper, egg cartons and wire, as well as Juliana Tropina and Daria Komkova (Engineering School of Clothing of the Ƶ) with the collection "Enchanted Forest" made of jute rope, artificial plants, tree bark, branches, fishing net, trellis net, and construction bag.
