The regional stage of the VIII open competition of student projects "Russia aspiring to the Future" traditionally ended in the Academic Council Hall of the University of Industrial Technology and Design, where the award ceremony was held.

The competition was held in several categories: "The best literary (research) work (essay)", "The best video work" and "The best visual work (photo, poster)". The project is organized by the Council of Rectors of Universities of the Northwestern Federal District with the support of the office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Northwestern Federal District.

This year's contest is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. A total of 298 applications were submitted from 37 universities in St. Petersburg.

The winners of the regional stage in each nomination will participate in the district stage, which runs from March 18 to April 30, 2025 at St. Petersburg State University.
