The exhibition “Chronicles of the Siege of Leningrad” opened in the House of Journalists

February 11 in the House of Journalist was held a solemn presentation and opening of the International exhibition-competition of creative works “Chronicles of the Siege of Leningrad”. The exhibition is a traveling exhibition and is held within the framework of the International art-media project “Chronicle of Victory: from the family archive”, aimed at preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War and the heroism of the inhabitants of the Siege of Leningrad.

The project united residents of Russia and the former Soviet Union, inspiring them to explore family archives and share personal stories related to the events of the war years. The main goal of the exhibition is to convey historical heritage through personal testimonies and artistic interpretations that help the younger generation to comprehend the tragic and heroic pages of history.

The exposition includes unique digitized archival materials: photographs, documents, front letters, as well as text, pictorial and graphic artworks based on real stories. Special attention is paid to the stories of veterans and their relatives, who through art and documentary evidence convey the memory of those years.

The presentation was attended by employees and students of universities, colleges and schools of St. Petersburg, as well as project participants from different regions of Russia. Lyudmila Egorovna Vinogradova, Head of the Department of Educational Work of St. Petersburg State University of Public Relations, Katerina Tugolukova, Director of the City Student Press Center of St. Petersburg, and Veronika Smirnova, Associate Professor of the Department of Brand Communication of St. Petersburg State University of Public Relations, told about the exhibition.
Schoolchildren told about their creative works and researches, sharing their reflections on the events of the Siege of Leningrad.
The winners and participants of the project received diplomas, as well as an invitation to participate in a series of future art-media projects of the City Student Press Center of St. Petersburg.

Everyone can visit the exhibition until February 17 at the address: Nevsky Prospekt, b. 70, 3rd floor. Entrance is free.
