A game room at a boarding school in the DNR will be created based on the design of the Ƶ team
23 January

Under the auspices of the Regional Executive Committee of the United Russia Party, a new game room will be created for boarding school No. 2 of Yenakievo urban district in the Donetsk People's Republic. The design concept of the game room was developed by the project team of students of PROMTEKHDISIGN University under the guidance of Evgeny Lobanov, Associate Professor of the Department of Interior and Equipment Design of Ƶ, and Sofia Shamanova, Assistant of the Department.

The students of the Institute of Spatial Environment Design of Ƶ took part in the design concept development for the boarding school in Yenakievo: Ariadna Shinkorenko, Anna Baboshina, Anastasia Popova, Polina Ryzhova, Anna Filippova, Daria Fedrushkova, Elvina Ermolaeva, Alisa Ilenzeer. Project manager Associate Professor Evgeny Lobanov notes that despite the impossibility of visiting the object for a thorough study, students and teachers have done a lot of research work: they made a questionnaire for teachers and school administration staff, studied international design experience and developed five unique design concepts for the interior of the game room with non-standard solutions of author's furniture and features of space organization. The preliminary designs were presented for discussion at the Leningrad Regional Executive Committee of the United Russia party.

Based on the results of the discussion, the project of Ariadna Shinkorenko and Anna Baboshina, students of St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Design, was selected for further development. A distinctive feature of their project was a dedicated play area with climbing equipment, which is separated from the rest of the room in the form of mobile racks. In addition, the designers envisioned a large modular rostrum, which, when disassembled, can be used as additional storage space or for seating. According to the specification, the interior needed to take into account a piano for music lessons - the students realized this task with the addition of a stage.

The main teaching area accommodates several transformable tables with adjustable height for children from 5 to 10 years old. The windowsills are extended to accommodate additional seating and study areas. The design calls for soft, muted shades of blue and pink, as well as light wood, which creates a cozy home environment and does not interfere with learning.

“It was not easy to choose the best project, but the jury noted the most elaborate interior, which formed a harmonious functional and coloristic solution, as well as provides opportunities to transform the environment for different scenarios of use.”

Evgeny Lobanov, Associate Professor of St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Technology

It should be noted that the project for the school in Yenakievo is not only renovation, but also socially significant for the region. Many schools in the city have not been renovated for a long time.

We would like to remind you that in 2024 within the framework of the federal project “Dream School” the teams of the Institute of Spatial Environment Design of Ƶ successfully defended the projects on renovation of schools in St. Petersburg and Leningrad region: Lyceum No. 533 in Krasnogvardeysky district, Razdolskaya School in Razdolye settlement and School No. 6 in Luga town. The students were divided into teams and tasks. The whole process from concept creation to final visualizations of interiors was accompanied by regular meetings with school administration representatives, parents and students.
