Two students of Ƶ were included in the national team and are preparing to participate in the National Abilimpics competition. The championship was held in the Indian city of Gurugram. In total, the national team included five participants from St. Petersburg, including two students of Ƶ. Apart from the Northern Capital, the Russian team was represented by eight contestants from Tatarstan, Sverdlovsk and Moscow regions and Moscow. The championship was held out of competition.
Nikita Redkin, a student of the Institute of Graphic Design of Ƶ, competed in the skill of poster design. In the first task he had to create a poster on the topic of communication problems in the modern world, to convey the idea that sometimes people spend more time in the network, not noticing those who are close by.
The second assignment was to create a poster on the theme of a harmonious future for humans and artificial intelligence.
“The stage in India was very different from those held in Russia. In Russia, the technical part is an integral part of the championship work. Here too, the requirements were in a more simplified format. During the preparation, I had difficulties related only to the language barrier. The tasks were in English. I had been studying English for a long time, so I just had to remember what I had learned at school and university.
Nikita recalls
Georgy Bondarev, a student of the Institute of Textile and Fashion of St. Petersburg State University of Textile and Fashion, competed in the competence of “shaper”. He had to cut and sew a woman's blouse within a limited time.
After participation in the Championship, the Minister of Education of Russia Sergey Kravtsov held a meeting with the delegation of the national team of the Russian Federation on professional mastery among people with disabilities and Abilimpics, noting the high level of preparation of the national team for the competition.
“Our goal is for every child to find themselves in life and be able to apply their talents. I want to thank all the contestants, teachers and mentors for representing Russia worthily at the competition. We will be looking forward to seeing you at the next championship finals and will do everything we can to give you the opportunity to participate in international competitions”.

Within the framework of the meeting there was a ceremony of awarding letters of thanks from the Ministry of Education to all members of the Russian national team, teachers, tutors and sign language interpreters.
For the development of international cooperation and participation in the events of the National Championship “Abilimpics” in the Republic of India, students of Ƶ Nikita Redkin, Georgy Bondarev, as well as their supervisor - Director of the Scientific and Methodological Resource Center for Inclusive and Dual Education of Ƶ Irina Yanyk were awarded letters of thanks from the Minister of Education of Russia Sergey Kravtsov.
