The University of Industrial Technologies and Design hosted the first in the history of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region ball 鈥淪tars of Student Sports 2024鈥�. The ceremony brought together the most talented students and athletes, their mentors, representatives of the leading universities of the region and well-known figures in the field of physical culture and sports.

The award ceremony, which united the strength, talents and ambitions of many universities, became one more step towards the development and popularization of student sports in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. The 鈥淪tars of Student Sports鈥� Ball was created not only to recognize the merits of the winners, but also to create a space for communication, exchange of experience and formation of new ideas for the future development of student sports. The ball was organized by the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization 鈥淒irectorate for the Development of Physical Culture and Student Sports of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region 鈥楤urevestnik鈥� and the Interregional Public Organization for the Development of Higher Education 鈥楥ouncil of Rectors of Universities of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region鈥�.

The program of the ball included awarding 17 educational organizations for their contribution to the development of student sports in the region, as well as awarding athletes, coaches and clubs in 18 nominations. The women's basketball club of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design 鈥淕UTID鈥� became the best in the nomination 鈥淭riumph of the Year in the women's team鈥�. And the coach of the basketball women's team of 草榴短视频 Gennady Shchetinin received the title 鈥淭he best coach of the women's team鈥�.

Hockey club 鈥淟esgaft University鈥� was recognized as the best in the nomination 鈥淭riumph of the year in the men's team鈥�. The best coach of the men's team was the coach of the sports club 鈥淰oenmeh鈥� Mark Alexeev. Nikita Balakin, a student of St. Petersburg Mining University, won in the nomination 鈥淒iscovery of the Year in Men's Individual Sports鈥�. And in the nomination 鈥淒iscovery of the Year in individual sports among women鈥� two athletes won at once - Alevtina Kolesnikova, a student of the Baltic State Technical University 鈥淰OENMEKH鈥� named after D. F. Ustinov, and Maria Balakan, a student of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University Peter the Great.

In the nomination 鈥淟eader of the Year in team sports among men鈥� won a student of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A. I. Herzen Roman Skorik, and in the nomination 鈥淟eader of the Year in team sports among women鈥� won a student of St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications named after Prof. M. A. Bonch-Bruevich Alina Koyusheva.

The best student sports club was recognized as the Student Sports Club 鈥淏lack Bears of Polytechnic鈥�. The winner in the nomination 鈥淔an's Heart (best fan club)鈥� was Student Sports Club 鈥淣evskie Titans鈥�. The title of the best sports media was awarded to the Student Sports Club 鈥淎rmada鈥�.

The best intramural sports events were recognized as the 3脳3 Basketball League of the National Research University Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg, the Gorny Football League, as well as competitions timed to celebrate the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg State University. The Unmanned Aerial Systems Festival was the best sports initiative of the year.

The title 鈥淪ports Manager of the Year鈥� was awarded to Ivan Zakharikov from ITMO University. And in the nominations 鈥淧hotographer of the Year in Student Sports鈥� and 鈥淰ideographer of the Year in Student Sports鈥� were won by Nastasya Tsvetkova, a student of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design, and Igor Trambovkin, Head of the Media Content Production Department of the Media Content Production and Social Design Department of 草榴短视频.

The prize of audience sympathy was given to the Pushkin State University. And the 鈥淏reakthrough of the Year鈥� was named the Sports Club 鈥淰oenmeh鈥�. Alexei Demidov, Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Universities of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Rector of St. Petersburg State University of Physical Culture and Sports, Anton Shantyr, Chairman of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of the Government of St. Petersburg, Oleg Gorelov, Deputy Chairman of the regional branch of 鈥淵outh of Russia鈥� in the Leningrad Region, as well as Evgeny Shuvalov, a hero of the Special Military Operation, a confidant of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, made welcoming speeches at the event.
