A young scientist, Maria Midukova, has developed a technology for cleaning office waste paper from toner by flotation.

The technology includes a stage of "dry" dispersion of waste paper, that is, dividing it into fibers before removing the toner, which allows for a more thorough purification of waste paper from the printing ink of a laser printer.

The development improves the quality of paper or cardboard obtained from recycled materials, reduces the amount of chemicals used to clean waste paper, the amount of water and energy resources, which makes the new method more economical and environmentally friendly.

The award ceremony was held at the BARCAMP 2024 "National Technological Revolution" at 20.35. Sergey Polyakov, CEO of the Innovation Promotion Foundation, and Vladimir Knyaginin, Vice Governor of St. Petersburg, congratulated the scientists.
