For the third year in a row, Olga Malyarova, a graduate of the University of Industrial Technologies and Design, a St. Petersburg designer, creates dresses in which Russians represent their native country on the podium of the international Miss Universe competition. This year, in the semi—finals of the contest in Mexico, the winner of the title "Miss Russia 2024" Valentina Alekseeva appeared before the jury in a dress by Malyarova Olga. The inspiration for the creation of the outfit was the Russian winter.
The costume was created in the designer's workshop, located in the walls of the Alma Mater. It is called "Russian Winter" and reflects the unique traditions and climatic features of Russia. The outfit is embroidered with 200,000 rhinestones, which shimmer in the spotlight and give the costume a mother-of-pearl shine. There are large crystals on the shoulders, imitating sharp ice cubes and emphasizing the winter theme. The image is completed by a kokoshnik crown decorated with mother-of-pearl and transparent crystals.
Recall that in 2022, Anna Linnikova, a participant from Russia, conquered the stage of the main Miss Universe beauty contest in the USA in a dress by Olga Malyarova "Crown of the Russian Empire", inspired by the crown of the Russian Empress Catherine II. And last year, Margarita Golubeva appeared on the podium of the competition, which was held in El Salvador, in a dress from a graduate of Ƶ. The inspiration for the outfit was the painting of the same name by Mikhail Vrubel, as well as the Romanov era, Russian fairy tales and gems.
