Young scientists of the Department of Nanostructured, Fibrous and Composite Materials named after A.I. Meos of Ƶ Natalia Lukicheva and Vadim Martsenyuk presented their scientific developments at the forum-exhibition of new materials and technologies AMTEXPO 2024 in the Innovation Center Skolkovo. The event was held with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the State Corporation “Rosatom” and its composite division and Technopark “Skolkovo”.

The forum and exhibition were devoted to technologies of creation of new materials and substances, development and application of composite and polymeric materials, rare and rare-earth metals, application of additive technologies and digital material science in different industries.
The Department of Nanostructured, Fiber and Composite Materials named after A.I. Meos of Ƶ was the only representative of the educational institution that presented its developments and startups in the field of polymer composite materials at the united stand in the startup zone.
Among the prototypes at the stand were energy-efficient gas-diffusion layers for hydrogen fuel cells developed by scientists; water-soluble tooling for molding high-pressure cylinders; nanoparticle-modified carbon sorbents and sorption-active filtering materials; artificial fibrous and porous soil substrates for plant cultivation; carbon-carbon and carbon-polymer thermal insulation materials for protection against high and low temperatures; precursors of a new generation of polymer composite materials.
Live plants planted in artificial fiber soil substrates attracted the attention of many visitors of the exhibition. Representatives of UMATEX ROSATOM (JSC “Prepreg-SKM”) were interested in the subject of washable tooling for composite high-pressure cylinders, including those for hydrogen storage, as well as high-temperature carbon thermal protection. For joint work in the field of components for hydrogen fuel energy (gas-diffusion layers), they also discussed work with UMATEX ROSATOM (ZUKM LLC) as suppliers of carbon fiber nonwoven materials.
