Developments in the field of information technology in design, printing and the media industry were presented at a conference in Ƶ
31 October

The Higher School of Printing and Media Technologies of the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design hosted the section "Information Technologies in Design, Printing and Media Industry" within the framework of the international conference "Regional Informatics", which has been held in the Northern Capital since 1992. The university is a co-organizer of the conference with the support of the Government of St. Petersburg.

The conference was attended by more than 500 leading scientists, managers and specialists — representatives of public authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation, academic scientific institutions, business structures, research and production enterprises, teachers and students of universities of the North-West specializing in the field of informatization, communications, digital technologies, information security.

The conference organized the work of 22 sections, including five subsections, four youth scientific schools and four round tables. More than 40 people took part in the work of the section "Information technologies in design, printing and media industry" within the walls of Ƶ. The number of reports was 36.

Special attention was paid to the use of generative artificial intelligence technologies and modern methods of processing large amounts of information in the analysis of printing approaches and the use of neural networks in graphic design, namely automation in image processing, background removal, color correction and resizing.

Algorithms for digital image processing using the Matlab package, developments in the use of generative-adversarial networks, digitalization technologies in packaging production, augmented reality technologies in the field of design and creativity, ways of using fractal geometry in video game development, optimization of game worlds, new game mechanics were also presented. Special attention was paid to the research of intelligent agents using tools for working with neural networks and machine learning in the software environment of game engines.

Modern trends in the development of websites adapted to various devices and screen sizes are presented: responsive design, the use of progressive web applications, single-page applications, technologies for adaptive development of media queries, flexible grids and layouts, flexible images and multimedia, vector graphics, frameworks and libraries, methods of expert UX/UI testing for each the interface being developed.
