The first meeting in the new academic year was held with representatives of the public foundation "Civil Alliance of Kostanay region "Green", who, in partnership with the Kazakhstan Institute of State History and the Kostanay State University named after A. Baitursynov, held a historical and geographical lecture-seminar "In the footsteps of Chokan Valikhanov" for our students.

The lecture told about the life of a Kazakh scientist, historian, ethnographer, folklorist, traveler, educator and orientalist, about historical events and features of cultural traditions of Kazakhstan of the XIX century. The interactive educational quiz, which was organized by the presenters, did not go unnoticed by the students. The participants listened to the lecture with interest and answered the quiz questions perfectly.

It is noteworthy that Chokan Valikhanov lived in St. Petersburg for more than a year, worked here a lot and left a significant contribution to history with his writings.
