The Admiralteyskaya Igla International Fashion, Art and Design Festival was held in St. Petersburg for the 30th time
18 October

Once again, St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design has become a real center of attraction for world fashion. Admiralteyskaya Igla is an entire epoch, the "Planet of Fashion", which has brought up more than one generation of famous and renowned designers in Russia and abroad. Participation in the festival has been helping talented designers find their niche in the modern fashion industry for 30 years and gives them the opportunity to win the main prize — 500,000 rubles!

This anniversary year, more than 700 designers from Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Croatia, Turkmenistan and Mongolia took part in the competition program. The collections of the authors were evaluated by members of a professional international jury, leading fashion experts from more than 13 countries, including, for the first time in the history of the festival, from Serbia and Iran.

This year's festival was dedicated to the main marketing trend of 2024 — nostalgia. The organizers invited the participants, young designers, to return to the past years, take all the best from there and bring it to modernity. The festival paid special attention to the era of the 90s and its legacy: grunge fashion, boy bands and soap operas.

Young designers actively reflect personal memories in their work. They combine in their collections new trends and unchanging classics, global trends and local flavor of those cities and countries where their childhood and creative formation took place, traditional foundations and the most modern digital technologies. Nostalgia in this context reduces the distance between the past and the present. Today, the aesthetics of bygone eras resonate with young designers who are happy to draw inspiration from the fashion of the past years, which is reflected in the collections presented on the catwalk.

The opening of the festival took place on October 15th under the motto "Admiralty needle — thirty!".

For 30 years, Admiralteyskaya Igla has been the story of the formation of not only ideas and the identification of bright talents in the competition, but also the story of bright creativity in fashion design, real growth and application of the latest technologies, innovative fabrics and materials. The Admiralty Needle is a story aimed at the future!
