The Institute of the Federal Service for Labor and Employment, established on the basis of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design (Ƶ), will start its work this year. The corresponding agreement was signed by the head of Rostrud Mikhail Ivankov and the rector of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design Alexei Demidov.
Rostrud and the Institute will be engaged in building a multi-stage system of continuous training of personnel by introducing profile training in the system of higher education and additional professional education. It is planned to open educational programs at the bachelor's, specialist and master's levels, as well as a block of programs of additional professional education. The main direction of the Institute's work will focus on training specialists who will have the necessary competencies to work both in the Federal Labor Inspectorate and at large Russian enterprises.
The creation of the new Institute of the Federal Service for Labor and Employment is an important step in the development of our university, strengthening cooperation with Rostrud and the State Labor Inspectorate of St. Petersburg. The new institute will provide an opportunity for students not only to obtain deep theoretical knowledge, but also to undergo practical training in conditions as close as possible to real life. Educational programs of higher and additional professional education, advanced training, retraining, developed jointly with Rostrud, are planned to be implemented, which will allow our students to master in-demand skills and ensure high competitiveness in the labor market. I am sure that close cooperation with the Federal Service for Labor and Employment will allow us to train highly qualified specialists in the field of labor protection, personnel and social work, state and municipal management, capable of solving complex problems and making a significant contribution to the economy of our country.

The Institute will become a platform not only to popularize the profession of labor inspector, but also to train personnel for the most responsible employers who understand that the successful development of their enterprises depends, among other things, on the professionalism of personnel and the ability to create comfortable and safe working conditions. I am confident that the availability of such an educational platform will help to form sustainable professional knowledge and train high quality specialists.

Today Ƶ, founded in 1930, offers more than 250 educational programs, focusing on training specialists for industry, where the issues of creating safe working conditions are of particular importance. Joint work of the university with Rostrud, creation of Rostrud Institute will allow training highly qualified specialists, which in turn will contribute to the reduction of occupational injuries, preservation of life and health of workers and development of the economy as a whole.
In addition, within the framework of the Institute the so-called “Boiling Point” will be created, which will allow to conduct various practical classes and trainings. It is also planned to organize a remote coaching base. This will make it possible to improve the quality of methodological work and scientific research related to the activities of Rostrud.
