Recall that gold, silver and bronze medalists of the Olympiad receive cash prizes of up to 300 thousand rubles.

Students of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design took part in 12 directions of the final stage of the Olympiad: “design”, “journalism”, “heat power engineering and heat engineering”, “chemical technology”, “materials science and technology of materials”, “mechanical engineering”, “development of unmanned aircrafts”, “pedagogical education”, “programming and information technologies”, “software engineering”, “advertising and public relations”, “sports and physical culture”.

Winners and prize-winners are also honored in their native university. Every year they receive a one-time cash prize of 15,000 and 12,000 rubles respectively.

About the projects of Ƶ students, which they presented in the final round

Read about the projects of Ƶ students, which they presented in the final round of the All-Russian Student Olympiad “I am a Professional” in our material.

Ekaterina Golovko (Institute of Spatial Environment Design Ƶ) became the winner in the nomination “environmental design”. As part of the competition task the student presented a design project of the district cultural and educational center (co-working) “Quantum”.

Its main feature was the use of natural materials with the addition of bright accents that saturate the space with positivity and good mood, which motivates students to new achievements and victories.

The idea was to create an educational center, which should attract young people to learn and develop their abilities and talents. The co-working center will also be used by all those who want to work or have a good time, as well as by parents who will be waiting for their children. A lecture zone has been created, where meetings and lectures will be held for different age groups.

Denis Akilov (Institute of Power Engineering and Automation of the Higher School of Technology Ƶ) became the winner of the Olympiad “I am a Professional” in the direction of “programming and information technologies”. His task was to solve as many practical and theoretical problems in computer science and programming as possible within a limited time. In this case he solved 12 problems of different complexity within 4 hours.

The most memorable task was the one where you had to analyze assembly language code. Although I was not very familiar with this language, it was possible to understand the program text. This Olympiad gave me an opportunity to understand which topics I know better, which ones I know worse, and what I like more in programming. It is important for me to decide on the choice of work in the future.

Now the student is preparing to participate in the International Olympiad on sports programming ICPC. The team of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science of Ƶ has qualified for the finals of the World Championship 2024, which will be held at the end of September.

Polina Kuzbozheva (Institute of Applied Art of Ƶ) became a prize-winner of the Olympiad “I am a Professional” in the direction of “object and industrial design”. She designed a series of lamps for the Russian brand Tayga Design, created them both as 3D models and recreated them in material.

All the lamps are made of different materials. Gnezdo is a papier mache technique: first a plaster mold was created, then shredded paper and glue were applied to it. Kolk is a mold made of metal mesh covered with sealant. Lod is made of glass chips and epoxy resin, the molding of this luminaire took place in several stages: first on a flat surface, then by interlocking the flat parts. The Klyuv model is a luminaire made of clay, also made in several stages: molding, drying, waste firing, glaze coating

Valeria Shershneva (Institute of Graphic Design Ƶ) became a prize-winner of the Olympiad “I am a Professional” in the direction “Object and Industrial Design”. As part of the competition task she developed the design and layout of a gift edition about the shadow theater “Ravana Chhaya”. The conceptual solution for the book is to incorporate a story typeface into the narrative, based on the principle and graphic selection of shadow puppets and inspired by the art of body painting with henna.

Ravana Chhaya is a rare form of shadow theater in the Indian tradition, which leaves behind little archival material with predominantly multimedia sources. The illustrative range of the publication consists of stories from the performances. Special attention is paid to texts, legends and tales, which are tightly woven into the fabric of the Ramayana stories' narration.

Egor Efimov (Institute of Energy and Automation of the Institute of Power Engineering and Automation of the Higher School of Technology Ƶ) presented at the Olympiad his solutions for the calculation of the station operating on the cycle of a steam-gas-turbine plant, demonstrated knowledge in the field of hydrodynamics, solved practical tasks on the knowledge of what is the circuit diagram of a thermal power plant.

The biggest project Egor worked on was the development of software and algorithm for verification calculation of a boiler unit.

The task was the following: it was necessary to take a new look at a familiar household object. I decided to take the simplest and most familiar one - a toothbrush - and use it to develop a series, using silhouette and shape, avoiding inappropriate repetition. I hope that next year I will be able to take into account my mistakes and my project will be better.

Alyona Bulatova (Institute of Graphic Design Ƶ) presented the corporate identity of the international festival of circus art “New Stage”. The design concept of the festival seeks to move away from the traditional for circus advertising campaigns abundance of bright colors and images, offering a more concise and clear structure. Minimalistic illustrations replace the overload of characters and typography, capturing the potential viewer's attention with a dose of irony and humor, making them emotionally appealing and memorable. The illustrations become an integral part of the festival's image and give it personality.

Initially, the work was hard, because the subject of circus is very difficult, especially from a humane point of view. But when I took the festival with new ecological trends as a concept, I became enamored with the project. A special place, of course, belongs to the funny illustrations, which the jury liked very much, and I had a lot of fun drawing them myself. The emotions were incredible, I already participated in the Olympiad last year and, unfortunately, I could not get enough points. So this year I was very satisfied with my professional growth.

Elizaveta Shershneva (Institute of Design and Arts Ƶ) presented a project in the direction of “design and promotion of digital product” called “Our Lesser” - a service for online veterinary care. Having won this season of the Olympiad, Elizaveta became a two-time winner of “I am a Professional”.

Working on the project was quite easy, it was possible to design the final concept almost without revisions. I like to work on social projects. The status of a two-time winner of the Olympiad makes me more valuable on the market. During my studies this year I managed to finish the course on interface design, having developed a diploma project, also social - a service that helps people with disabilities in social adaptation.
