As part of the implementation of international academic mobility programs, students of the University of Industrial Technology and Design took part in an international summer school, which took place in the ancient but eternally young city of Samarkand.
A series of thematic lectures on the basis of Samarkand State University named after Sharaf Rashidov included the history of Uzbekistan from ancient times to the present day, professional training and practices, as well as an interesting excursion program to the sights of the city. According to the students' feedback, the program was very rich and interesting. They saw the best examples of baroque, classicism, eclecticism and art nouveau architecture. They were able to feel the spirit of the Timurid era and modernity of the XXI century, and had a unique opportunity to get in touch with the ancient history of Samarkand culture. Students visited the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan, one of the most significant observatories of the Middle Ages - Ulugbek's Observatory, the memorial complex of Imam Al-Bukhari, visited Ulugbek's Madrasah.



Specially for the participants of the summer school was organized a trip to one of the most ancient cities of Central Asia - Bukhara and the birthplace of the legendary ruler and commander Tamerlane - the city of Shakhrisabz.
Besides, the students had enough free time to walk and explore the city on their own.
At the end of the summer school, the students were presented with certificates from Sharaf Rashidov University. They will remind them of this wonderful week spent in Uzbekistan.
