University Shifts is a project implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The organizer of the shift for the guys from the Kherson region was the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design.
At Ƶ, children took career guidance tests, worked in the Smart Design cluster, the university cluster of the shoe and leather industry, got acquainted with the FashionTech educational program, studied graphic design, image generation using artificial intelligence in the Digital Design Laboratory, took part in sports events and visited museums and cathedrals of the Northern Capital.



After settling into the university campus, the students underwent team building training, got acquainted with the sights of the university and enjoyed the summer St. Petersburg. And with the onset of evening, they were waiting for the grand opening of the shift at the university Boiling Point.



At Ƶ, the children got acquainted with the profession of a fashion designer-technologist of shoe and leather goods production. They were helped in this by teachers of the Ƶ light industry cluster, created by the university within the framework of the Professional Training Program. Here they mastered hand stitching using a French punch, the "double—sided herringbone" technique, hand sewing tools, studied the work of domestic 3D printers that print pads, insoles made of special polymers, as well as prototypes of future products. Special attention was paid to the laboratory of scientific biomechanics of movement, where, using optical cameras, a special platform and an electromyography complex, university scientists investigate the human walking pattern. It is here that, together with specialists from medical clinics, specialists help patients with cerebral palsy and osteogenesis imperfecta.
At the university Boiling Point, students presented their author's projects developed under the mentorship of university students. Activists of the University of Industrial Technology and Design, who have already won grants and conducted their large-scale All-Russian youth projects, taught the children the intricacies of launching, analyzing the audience, understanding the goals and meanings of their initiatives. The social platform "Brightness" for providing psychological assistance to schoolchildren during the Unified State Exam, the employment course "Youth in action", the creative educational forum "Pik360", the volunteer movement "Tailed House" to help animals, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle "The Edge of smoking", the environmental campaign "Live ecologically" to clean polluted territories: such projects were presented by children at the final pitching session.
In the main building of Ƶ, children passed an important career guidance test with a psychologist. The test explores skills and interests, and offers a personal selection of professions. The guys answered questions about what is close to them, what they devote their free time to, and how they perceive information better. As a result, the guys received feedback from the psychologist with a list of in-demand professions, including digital ones. Then representatives of the "Movement of the First" in Russia introduced the children to the mission of their organization in the format of the quiz "Be on the Move!".
During the shift, the students visited the innovative sites of Ƶ: they walked through the exhibition about the design of books in the Coordinate space, tested the digital equipment of the Smart Design Laboratory, examined the production sewing coworking, artifacts of the university in the Sports Museum, as well as the media center of the Online magazine Ƶ Sarafan. At the university Boiling Point, children discovered a completely new direction in the field of high-tech fashion Fashion Tech at the presentation of Russia's first master's degree program dedicated to creating avatars, digital collections of clothing and accessories, filling and editing virtual environments, opened at Ƶ as part of the Ministry of Education and Science's "Priority 2030" program. The children were particularly interested in a meeting with the rector of the university, Chairman of the Council of Rectors of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region Alexey Demidov.

Also during the shift, the children visited the Alexander Palace in Pushkin, Palace Square, St. Isaac's and Kazan Cathedrals, walked around the historical center of St. Petersburg, visited the Petrovsky Water Area, the Hermitage, and enjoyed a picnic in the Lyceum Garden. At the end, they were waiting for the ceremonial closing of the shift in the hall of the Academic Council of the University of Industrial Technology and Design.
